"If you're right brained you'll see a dog. If your left brained you'll see a giraffe. Which do you see?" Gavin captioned the post, which has currently garnered more than 15,000 likes.. But, what does this actually mean? And is there any actual evidence to support the influencer's claims?

While the two halves of our brain work as a whole, specific areas are responsible for different functions. Back in the 19060s, Novel Prize winner Roger W. Sperry brought the concept of left vs right brain to the zeitgeist.

The psychobiologist believed the left side of the brain was designed to help with logic, sequencing, maths, facts, and 'linear thinking' - whereas the right side was more creative, used for arts, rhythm, daydreaming, and 'holistic thinking'. His research popularised the idea that left-brained people would therefore be good with numbers and analytics, and right-brained individuals would be better with more visual tasks and creative jobs.

However, this myth has been debunked by several reputable studies. As states: "Despite their contrasting styles, the two halves of your brain are connected by brain fibers and work together...General personality traits, individual preferences, or learning styles don't translate into the notion that you're left-brained or right-brained."

The illusion quickly sparked debate online as thousands of viewers struggle to identify either animal. "I think my brain is broken because I can see a bird," one person said.

Another agreed, branding themselves 'no brained' or 'middle brained'. A third added: "So someone explain why do I see a bunny and a bird?" while a fourth wrote: "I think my brain is broken. I see a bunny rabbit."
